Meet

Mary Ellen Gavin, RN, BSN, MPA, CDP
Founder
Mary Ellen is a highly qualified healthcare professional, holding a Master’s in Public Administration and serving as the owner of Gavin Eldercare Management, LLC. Her credentials include being a Registered Nurse in Connecticut and a Certified Dementia Practitioner. She has extensive experience in complex medical care and management, including cardiac, renal, and diabetic care, as well as establishing a diabetes center and implementing statewide dialysis programs. She has published, lectured, and provided expert training in these specialty areas, building on her early work at the Cleveland Clinic.
In recent years, as a case manager in an acute rehabilitation hospital, she has become very familiar with post-stroke and complex neurologic and neurosurgical care. In this role, she noted the shift in healthcare, with a focus on shorter lengths of stay and addressing acute issues rather than the whole person. Mary Ellen started Gavin Eldercare Management after recognizing that the current health care system fails to support the vulnerable elderly patients.
Mary Ellen has vast experience working with the geriatric population. As a geriatric care manager and a nurse advocate, she possesses a unique understanding of all aspects of caring for older adults and their families. She offers support, helping individuals navigate our often-complex healthcare system. Additionally, she educates and empowers individuals, enabling them to make informed decisions when facing vulnerable situations. With extensive experience as a hospital case manager within a large healthcare system in New England, she is well-equipped to provide expert eldercare services.
